This is a straight forward fight, but if your group isn’t paying attention and following suit it can get ugly fast. Basically when he casts Energize Cores small bolts of electricity whill charge the pilars that are around him. When he does this, everyone must move to the side that doesn’t have the electricity. If you don’t move you’ll get hit with larger bolts of electricity that hurt a lot.
Periodically he’ll cast Amplify Magic on party members. This should be dispelled if possible, and more importantly if it has been cast on the tank.
Another other thing to pay attention to are the captains that he’ll call using Call Azure Ring Captain that cast a very large beam from above (they’re riding a drake)… stay out of this beam, it does a lot of damage too. If for whatever reason any of the nearby drakes aggro you’ll have to kill them too (like we do at the end of the non heroic video on this page). Because of this it’s a good idea to clear out all of the drakes before landing and attempting this fight.
Heroic

Strategy:
Not too much changes in Heroic mode. Of course all of his abilities (and the captains he summons) do a lot more damage and he has a lot more health. The most important thing is removing Amplify Magic from the tank.
