Sjonnir The Ironshaper - Halls of Stone

Non Heroic

Strategy:

The tank should tank him where he stands. Whenever he begins to cast Lightning Ring the tank (and any melee dps) should get away from him and wait for it to stop, after which the tank should engage again and continue. At 10-20% Brann Bronzebeard fixes the machine behind him and the platforms begin to summon friendly adds that help dps the boss down - but the boss also gains Frenzy at this point and hits a lot harder and the healer will have to do extra work to keep the tank up.

Periodically Sjonnir will summon adds from the platforms to his left and right, before the fight assign someone for handling the adds on the left and someone else for handling the adds on the right - DKs are great for this. They’re elite but they don’t hit very hard and don’t have a lot of health. The slime adds can heal Sjonnir (i’ve been told this, haven’t verified it) so it’s important to kill them fast.

His Lightning Shield should be purged or spell stolen at the begining of the fight if possible. Healers need to be mindful of Static Charge and keep party member sup when effected by it.

A well geared tank can stay inside of his Lightning Ring if desired, but there is no reason not to get out of it really other than simplicity.

Heroic

Strategy:

This encounter is the same in heroic mode as it is in non heroic mode, however the tank should not stay inside of Lightning Ring and purging/dispelling Lightning Shield helps a lot.
