Anub’arak - Azjol-Nerub

Who:

Anub’arak in Azjol-Nerub

Anub’arak is the last and final boss of Azjol-Nerub and it seems this fight can be pretty buggy (no pun intented) at times (Mainly due to his Pound ability).

Non Heroic

Strategy:

The tank should tank Anub’Arak with his back to one of the walls of his platform, this is to help the rest of the group avoid his Pound ability. The rest of his abilities aren’t too much trouble (for a half way decent healer anyway). Every now and again the boss will submerge into the ground and will summon bugs from the sky and elites from the ramp that you entered his platform on. These elites will need to be picked up by the tank. While the boss is submerged he will use his Impale ability, this is very obvious due to the rumbling dirt on the ground and can (and should) be avoided by moving off of the rumbling dirt.

Pound should be avoided at all costs. This ablity is cast in a cone in front of the boss that effects anyone in the cone. This ability seems very buggy (ie: you can be pounded even if you’re not in front of him). The tank should back up to a wall on the platform and when the boss begins to cast this the tank should walk right through the boss so that they are behind the boss whe it’s cast, this seems to be the most effective way to get out of this ability.

Heroic

Strategy:

This encounter is the same in heroic mode as it is in non heroic mode except that it becomes increasingly to avoid Pound (this usually causes a wipe if the tank gets hit with it) and Impale. The poison casting elite adds (while the boss is submerged) should be dispatched first as they can cause significant damage to others, they can be silenced and their spell casts can be interrupted.
